NEC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alec Rodriguez, Delaware State
Gr., OF
Dover, DE/Dover High School

Rodriguez led Delaware State to a conference series win over Coppin State over the weekend with a monster performance at the plate. The graduate outfielder went 7-for-13 (.538) while smacking four homers, driving in eight runs and scoring six of his own. Rodriguez went yard in every single game against the Eagles, including a two homer-game in the Hornets’ 16-3 victory on Friday. He also added a double, a stolen base and drew a walk throughout the weekend. The Dover, DE native completed the week with a 2.138 OPS off a 1.538 slugging percentage and .600 OBP. Rodriguez is the first Hornet to take home NEC Player of the Week honors since 2024.

NEC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jimmy Gilleran, Stonehill
Sr., RHP
Mansfield, MA/Mansfield (Framingham State)
In a narrow 3-2 win over Norfolk State, Gilleran hurled eight innings, while giving up just five hits and only two earned runs to earn his fourth victory on the year. Additionally, Gilleran stuck out four batters and walked just five. The nail-biting win was key in boosting Stonehill to a series win over the Spartans. The senior righty also limited Norfolk State to a .192 batting average across 32 batters. Gilleran ranks third in the conference for ERA (4.50), opposing BA (.246), batters struck out looking (21), hits (57) and runs allowed (42). This marks his second career NEC Pitcher of the Week award and first of the season.

NEC BASEBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Henry Clausell, Maryland Eastern Shore
Fr., RHP/INF
Arroyo, Puerto Rico/Perkiomen School (Delaware)
Clausell did it all for Maryland Eastern Shore over the weekend. At the plate, the freshman batted .357 (5-for-14) along with cracking a pair of doubles. Clausell scored two runs and drove in three more from the batter’s box. He finished the week with a .857 OPS off a .500 slugging percentage and a .357 OBP. On the mound, the Puerto Rico native tossed three shutout innings to earn the save in UMES’ 5-1 victory over New Haven on Friday. He walked a pair of batters and rifled off one strikeout for the Hawks. Clausell did not allow a single hit through 13 batters faced. This marks the second time a UMES player has been tabbed NEC Rookie of the Week season and the first one for Clausell.
