NEC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jeremy Cheeseman, FDU
Sr., RHP/1B
Marlton, NJ/Cherokee High School

Cheeseman was incredible at the plate last week as FDU extended its winning streak to eight. The senior went 7-for-13 (.538) for the Knights, while smashing four homers and cracking a double. The first baseman scored eight runs and drove in eight more during five home games this past week. Cheeseman showed out in the series finale against New Haven where he hit two of his home runs, while batting .500 and recording four RBIs. The Marlton, NJ native also went a perfect two-for-two with a pair of homers in a mid-week victory over Saint Peter’s. Cheeseman finished last week’s five-game stretch with a 2.138 OPS off a 1.538 slugging percentage and a .600 OBP. He also ranks second in the league for slugging percentage (.855) and OPS (1.317) along with being tied for second with eight homers on the year. FDU, now, sits at 8-1 in NEC play and owns a 13-7 overall record this season. This is the second straight week a Knights has claimed NEC Player of the Week honors with Johnathan Gomez winning last week’s award.

NEC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Colin Trizuto, Wagner
Sr., RHP
San Mateo, CA/Aragon
Trizuto hurled eight shutout innings to earn the win on the mound during Wagner’s 6-0 victory over Le Moyne. The senior righty rifled off a career-high seven strikeouts and walked none of the 31 Dolphin batters he faced. The San Mateo, CA native limited Le Moyne to a .258 batting average in Friday’s series opener. Trizuto is tied for third in the conference with 26.0 innings pitched. The Seahawks have, now, had a NEC Pitcher of the Week award winner in four of the past five years. Wagner is out to a 6-3 start in conference play.

NEC BASEBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kacin Robinson, Stonehill
Fr., OF
East Hartford, CT/Avon Old Farms
Earning his second NEC Rookie of the Week accolade this season, Robinson helped lead Stonehill to a series win over Mercyhurst this weekend. The freshman outfielder went 5-for-12 (.417) in the batter’s box, while adding three RBIs and scoring six runs. The East Hartford, CT native shined in game one of the Skyhawks’ double header on Sunday with .750 BA performance in his first three-hit game of his college career. Robinson also hit a key single through the left side to give Stonehill a 8-6 lead in the sixth inning. The Skyhawks went onto win the contest, 9-7, in the closest of the three match ups with the Lakers. This is the first time since 2023 a Stonehill player has won multiple NEC Rookie of the Week honors. The Skyhawks are 5-1 to begin conference play.
