Cheeseman was incredible at the plate last week as FDU extended its winning streak to eight. The senior went 7-for-13 (.538) for the Knights, while smashing four homers and cracking a double. The first baseman scored eight runs and drove in eight more during five home games this past week. Cheeseman showed out in the series finale against New Haven where he hit two of his home runs, while batting .500 and recording four RBIs. The Marlton, NJ native also went a perfect two-for-two with a pair of homers in a mid-week victory over Saint Peter’s. Cheeseman finished last week’s five-game stretch with a 2.138 OPS off a 1.538 slugging percentage and a .600 OBP. He also ranks second in the league for slugging percentage (.855) and OPS (1.317) along with being tied for second with eight homers on the year. FDU, now, sits at 8-1 in NEC play and owns a 13-7 overall record this season. This is the second straight week a Knights has claimed NEC Player of the Week honors with Johnathan Gomez winning last week’s award.
