NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Olivia Lockwood, Le Moyne
Attack, Redshirt Junior, Syracuse, NY/West Genesee (Onondaga CC)
Lockwood’s explosive scoring last week launched the redshirt junior to the top of the NEC scoring charts and to her second NEC Player of the Week award of the young 2026 campaign. The hometown product from Syracuse racked up 10 points during a two-game stretch to lead Le Moyne to two road wins at Binghamton on Wednesday and Manhattan on Saturday. With the triumphs, the red-hot Dolphins improved to 4-1 against non-conference competitors, a mark that is currently the best record in the NEC. Lockwood, who combined for 11 goals in the first three games of the year behind an eight-score outing at Presbyterian on Opening Day, began the week by pouring in six points against the Bearcats. The attacker registered one goal in each of the game’s four quarters with her fourth – and final — score at the 11:29 mark giving her team a 9-8 edge in the eventual 11-10 victory. On Saturday, Lockwood, who delivered another four-goal performance, helped the Dolphins secure the 16-10 win against the Jaspers. Two of her goals came as part of a 7-0 Le Moyne run that extended an 8-5 lead to double digits with 9:28 left to play. Lockwood enters the week ranked first in the NEC in goals (19), goals per game (3.80) and points (22), while her 4.40 points per game are good for second.
NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abigail McDonald, FDU
Defense, Senior, Mine Hill, NJ/Morris Knolls
McDonald caused a season-high three turnovers — including one key stop in crunch time — to help lead FDU to a 10-9 win over visiting Iona on Saturday. With her squad clinging on to a one-goal lead, the Mine Hill, NJ native halted the Gaels’ fourth-quarter comeback bid by forcing a turnover and collecting the ensuing ground ball with 39 seconds remaining. Following a successful clear attempt, FDU milked the clock for the remainder of the contest to come away with its second victory of 2026. In addition to her three caused turnovers, the senior defender picked up two ground balls, which also marks a season-best effort. McDonald is the first FDU player this season to earn a weekly award from the NEC.
NEC WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Sophia Gouveia, Stonehill
Midfield, Freshman, North Stonington, CT/Wheeler
Gouveia made it an NEC Rookie of the Week repeat on Monday after she turned in another stat-stuffing performance for Stonehill. In the Skyhawks’ lone game of the week at Bryant, the midfielder from North Stonington, CT registered three caused turnovers, three draw controls and two ground balls while contributing one goal and an assist to her team’s offensive efforts. On the season, Gouveia tops Stonehill with 17 draw controls while her nine caused turnovers are tied for the team lead. In addition, she is third among fellow Skyhawks in points (13) and ground balls (9) while ranking second in goals (10).
