NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lotte Haagmans, LIU
So. F, Nuth, Netherlands/
Sintermeerten College
Haagmans led the NEC last week with 12 points off five goals and two assists. During LIU’s 8-0 win over New Haven on Friday, the sophomore forward found the back of the cage four times while dishing out a pair of assists. The four were the second-most by an NEC player this season. Haagmans also added a score to jumpstart a comeback effort late in the third quarter and cut LIU’s deficit in half during a 2-1 setback against Sacred Heart on Sunday. The Netherlands native leads the NEC in goals (22), points (54) and points per game (3.18). Her 10 assists and 0.59 assists per game are both second in the league. Nationally, Haagmans ranks second in goals per game (1.29), goals and points, and is third in points per game. She became the first LIU player to be named NEC Offensive Player of the Week since Saarah Olton won the award on October 11, 2022.

Valeria Perales, Rider
Sr., F, Madrid, Spain/Mirasierra
In a win-or-go home game at Wagner on Friday, Perales walked it off for the Broncs in a 4-3 in double overtime win that secured their spot in the 2025 NEC Tournament. With 2:29 left in the second OT period, the senior forward found the back of the cage off a penalty corner set up from Megan Normile to clinch the victory for Rider. Her scoring day started early by netting the Broncs’ first goal of the game midway through the second quarter. Perales’ 13 goals, 0.77 goals per game, 32 points and 1.88 points per game all rank third in the conference. This marked the Madrid native’s third career NEC Offensive Player of the Week nod and second of the season. Rider’s season continues Thursday in the 2025 NEC semifinals against top-seeded Fairfield.
