NEC WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Sarah Turner, Saint Francis
Sr., Enola, PA/East Pennsboro
Turner was a key contributor in a tri-meet victory for Saint Francis over LIU and Manhattan over the weekend. The senior won the 200 IM, 200 fly and 200 breast events. Turner registered a time of 2:11.06 in the 200 IM, the fastest in the league this year. The Enola, PA native also posted the second-fastest times in the NEC for both the 200 breast (2:26.68) and 200 fly (2:09.55). Turner's contributions helped guide the Red Flash to a 134-86 win over LIU and a 179-33 victory over Manhattan, making them a perfect 3-0 to start the season.
NEC WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Jewelle Maziarz, Central Connecticut
Sr., Newmarket, NH/Newmarket
Maziarz earned her second consecutive NEC Diver of the Week award after placing second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive in a dual meet with New Hampshire. The senior scored 251.70 on the 1-meter board and 231.15 on the 3-meter board.
NEC WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Emma Kawai, Stonehill
Fr., Winchester, MA / Winchester
Kawai put forth a strong showing in Stonehill's tri-meet with Merrimack and Sacred Heart, securing a win in the 200 backstroke event. The rookie posted a 200 back time of 2:11.43 for the win and secured important points in a tight 147-140 Skyhawks' win over Merrimack.
NEC MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Polat Tasbasi, LIU
Jr., Ankara, Turkey/Tarhan College
Tasbasi delivered a great performance in LIU's dual meet with Manhattan on Saturday and helped guide the Sharks to a 171-83 victory in their season opener in Brooklyn. The junior posted victories in all four events he swam, winning the 100 breast and 200 breast, and contributing legs in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Tasbasi posted conference-best times in the 100 breast (56.13) and 200 breast (2:03.89). He also registered a 50 breast time of 25.20 in the second leg of the 200 medley relay.
NEC MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mario Rodriguez Poulsen, LIU
Fr., Oviedo, Asturias, Spain/IES La Eria
Rodriguez Poulsen won all four events he competed in during LIU’s home win over Manhattan. The freshman won the 50 free (21.41), 200 free (1:43.23), 200 IM (2:01.81) and swam the lead leg on the Sharks' 200 medley relay team. Rodriguez Poulsen slotted into fourth on the NEC leaderboard for the 50 free, and sits third in the 200 free with his performance on Saturday. His 50 back time of 25.03 in the relay is the fifth-fastest in the league so far this season.
NEC WOMEN'S PRIME PERFORMERS

Sophie Milhomens, Jr., Central Connecticut
- Dual meet vs. New Hampshire.
- Won the 200 back with a time of 2:05.24, the second-fastest time in the conference.
- Placed fourth in the 200 fly with a time of 2:12.29.
- Came in fourth in the 500 free after clocking in at 5:16.29. That time is the fifth-fastest in the NEC this season.
Madeline O'Dea, Jr., Le Moyne
- Dual meet vs. Niagara.
- Claimed victory in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.20, good for fourth-best in the league.
- Finished second in the 200 breast after registering a time of 2:27.56, the fourth-fastest 200 breast time in the conference.
Liene Vientesa, So., LIU
- vs. Saint Francis and Manhattan.
- Won the 50 free (24.98) and 100 fly (1:00.30).
- Vientesa's 100 fly time is the seventh-fastest in the league this season.
Maura Rubio, So., SFU
- vs. LIU and Manhattan
- Earned wins in the 100 back (58.06) and 200 back (208.66).
- Rubio's 100 back time is good for second-best in the NEC.
Sara Turner, Sr., SFU
Grace Idowu, Jr., Stonehill
- vs. Merrimack and Sacred Heart
- Finished first in the 50 free (24.58) and second in the 100 free (54.09).
- The junior's performance in the 50 free puts her eighth on the NEC leaderboard in that event.

- Dual meet vs. Niagara
- Won the 100 breast with a time of 56.66.
- Placed second in the 200 breast, clocking in at 2:04.95.
Alexander Pilieci, So., Le Moyne
- Dual meet vs. Niagara
- Came in second in the 100 fly, posting a time of 51.65.
- Finished second in the 200 fly with a time of 1:55.88, good for fourth-best in the league.
