New Orleans, LA -- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its All-Academic honor for the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons featuring one NEC student-athlete and nine different teams earning the distinction.

Central Connecticut’s Greyson Golda was the lone NEC competitor to garner All-Academic status. Golda completed his season at the NCAA East First Round. The sophomore thrower placed 47th at the NCAA regional.

Golda won the shot put and the discus along with placing second in the hammer throw on his way to winning the Most Valuable Performer award on his home turf at the 2026 NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Bethel, CT native was also tabbed the Most Outstanding Field Performer (Throws) at the league’s indoor championship after getting the gold in shot put and clinching silver in the weight throw in February.

In total, nine NEC track & field teams were deemed All-Academic teams. On the women’s side, CCSU, Chicago State, FDU, LIU, New Haven and Stonehill all attained the honor. For the men, the Blue Devils, Knights and Sharks all clinched a spot on the prestigious list.

To qualify as an Individual All-Academic honoree, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale and meet athletic criteria during either the indoor or outdoor season. For indoor track and field, they must have ranked in the top 96 nationally in an individual event or top 48 in a relay, based on final TFRRS performance lists. For outdoor track and field, they must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (Preliminary or Final) or ranked in the top 48 in their region (East or West) on the NCAA Division I descending order list. In addition, honorees must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the certifying institution.

To earn All-Academic Team status, a program must have posted a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track & Field.
