Moon Township, PA - The Colonials of Robert Morris will host Jacksonville in the Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday, May 6, the NCAA announced on the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Selection Show Sunday night on ESPNU.
RMU will make its fifth ever NCAA Tournament appearance and its fourth as a member of the NEC. The Colonials will represent the NEC as the league’s automatic qualifier in 2026.
The 2026 NEC champions enter the dance red hot, winning each of their last 13 contests. The Colonials have had a historic campaign, winning a program-record 14 games and sweeping the major NEC yearly awards.
Dylan Anderson (Victoria, British Columbia/Royal Bay Academy) was one of the nation’s top freshmen offensively. The 2026 NEC Player, Offensive Player and Rookie of the Year paces RMU with 47 points on 35 goals and 12 assists. Anderson has been the engine of a Colonial offense that racked up a league-best 186 goals. He has scored the second-most goals and registered the fourth-most points of any freshman in the nation. The Victoria, British Columbia native became the first player in NEC to win Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in the same season.
Graeme MacLennan (Toronto, Ontario/Neil McNeil) was electric for RMU in the NEC Tournament, receiving Tournament MVP honors after his last-second goal punched the Colonials’ ticket to the dance. The senior attacker scored five goals across RMU’s two tournament games.
Nate Fechter (Dresher, PA/Upper Dublin) was also outstanding in goal for the Colonials during the tournament, saving 36-of-48 shots (.750) in the NEC Tournament. Fechter held LIU scoreless for the first 20 minutes of the second half in the NEC Championship Game, allowing Robert Morris to stay ahead during a span in which they scored just once. The junior was named to the All-Tournament Team for his impressive performance at the event.
RMU will square off with a Jacksonville squad who earned the A-Sun’s automatic qualifier with a 10-5 record. The Dolphins enter the matchup as winners of their last four, including a 16-7 win over Air Force in the A-Sun title game.
Senior midfielder Jack Taylor is Jacksonville’s primary offensive threat, registering 80 points from 37 goals and 43 assists. Graduate goalie Ryan Della Rocco was a steady presence between the pipes for the Dolphins, maintaining a .593 save percentage and a 7.25 goals against average.
