Bridgewater, NJ -- Four NEC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field student-athletes qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division I East Firs Round, which was announced last week.
Wagner led the way with two athletes making the cut through
Jack Mason and
Christopher Milillo. Mason is the lone NEC student-athlete to be competing in two events as he slated to participate in the triple and long jump, while Milillo qualified in the hammer throw.
This year’s Most Valuable Performer
Greyson Golda of Central Connecticut makes his NCAA Championship debut in the shot put, while FDU’s
Ethan Ruffin competing in the high jump for the second straight season.
Mason and Milillo were both instrumental in Wagner clinching its fourth title in six years. Tabbed the Most Outstanding Field Performer (Jumps) at the meet, Mason won both the triple (15.54m) and long jump (7.75m). His long jump distance set a new conference meet record. Milillo added a gold medal in the hammer throw (61.20m).
Golda shined at league’s outdoor championship with three medals on his way to MVP and Most Outstanding Field Performer (Throws) honors. Gold won both the shot put (18.10m) and the discus (50.15m) along with claiming silver in the hammer throw (56.97m).
Ruffin defended his NEC high jump title after he cleared 2.10m, which was 0.13 meters ahead of the field.
The NCAA East Regional takes place from May 27 to May 30 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. The qualifiers from the regional rounds will go on to compete in the NCAA DI Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 10-13 at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon in Euguene, OR.
