NEC MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Victor Sjöström, LIU
Jr., Stockholm, Sweden/Sjölins
Sjöström won both of his matches against FDU on Wednesday to help LIU earn an impressive 5-2 win in its conference opener. The Stockholm, Sweden native won at the No. 5 singles flight against Jorge Alonso-Cortes in a convincing 6-2, 6-3 result. In doubles, Sjöström paired with Jack Brimm in the No. 3 flight to defeat FDU's Taurus Mickus and Tze En Gareth Ong, 6-3, finishing off a clean sweep of doubles for the Sharks. The junior improved to 7-2 in singles on the season with his victory.

NEC MEN’S TENNIS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Harry Liao, Binghamton
Fr., Chengdu, China/Chengdu Foreign Language School
Liao earned his second NEC Rookie of the Week award after grinding out two tough victories in Binghamton's 6-1 win over Colgate on Thursday. He battled to a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7-1) win in the No. 3 spot against Colgate's Witt Bulger, recording his ninth singles win of the year in the process. Liao teamed with Ronin Lotlikar in the No. 1 match to defeat Colgate's duo of Aidan Chung and Tim Viding, 7-6 (7-2). The duo of Liao and Lotlikar are now 8-4 on the season.

NEC WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jr., Valencia, Spain/Esclavas del sagrado corazón de Jesús
Guillen Cerver and LIU made a statement of intent on Wednesday by knocking off the reigning NEC champion and preseason favorite FDU in a 4-3 result. The Valencia, Spain product picked up two essential wins for the Sharks. She defeated Yelena Kim 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 3 singles flight and paired with Emma Jane Barclay for a 6-3 win in the No. 1 match against Kim and Anastasia Lim. The win was LIU's first of the season.

NEC WOMEN’S TENNIS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Helena Lynn, Saint Francis
Fr., Bethlehem, PA/Mother Divine Grace
Lynn made it three consecutive NEC Rookie of the Week nods with four total wins across two matches. In singles, the four-time NEC Rookie of the Week defeated Spring Arbor's Moorea McNalley, 7-5, 7-5, in the No. 1 flight, and downed Tiffin's Erna Brdarevic 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 3 spot. Both of Lynn's doubles win came in the top flight. She teamed with Kelly Dowuona to beat Lynchburg's McNalley and Lilah Dean, 6-3, and paired with Dasha Chichkina to win 6-2 against Tiffin's Brooke McNeal and Jemimah Choi.
 
NEC MEN'S PRIME PERFORMERS

Ronin Lotlikar, Sr., BING - Collected wins in No. 1 singles and doubles flights against Colgate. Won 6-3, 6-2 against Colgate's Lochlan Seth and teamed with Liao for a 7-6 (7-2) win over Chung and Viding.

Victor Sjöström, Jr., LIU - NEC Player of the Week.

Mario Beckles, Fr., SFU - Picked up three total wins against Lynchburg and Spring Arbor. Defeated Lynchburg's Alexandre Gaboardi, 6-3, 6-2, in the No. 3 spot and knocked off Spring Arbor's Andrei Negrut, 6-1, 7-5, in the No. 4 position. In doubles, paired with Noah Potts in the No. 3 match to post a 6-3 win ove the Lynchburg duo of Sebastian Soria and Daniel Gomes.

Nicolas Arredondo, So., STO - Went 2-1 in singles last week. Defeated UNC Asheville's Leo Kolbe, 6-1, 7-5, in the No. 6 spot, as well securing a 6-3, 6-2 victory over The CItadel's Reece Beckendorf in a No. 5 flight match.

Dasha Chichkina, So., SFU - Won both of her matches last week from the top flight. In singles, defeated Tiffin's Jemimiah Choi, 6-4, 5-7, 10-5. Teamed with Lynn to best Tiffin's top duo of McNeal and Choi, 6-2.
