Bridgewater, NJ -- In a season where both of their programs took major steps forward, Niagara's
Emily Brock (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Mercyhurst's
Mackensie Livingston (Sarver, PA/Freeport Area) were named Co-MVPs of the 2026 NEC Bowling Championship.
Brock and Livingston headlined the NEC All-Tournament Team, which was announced on Monday.
Brock supplied the standout moment of the 2026 edition of the tournament. With Niagara locked in a back-and-forth battle in the traditional leg of their elimination match against Monmouth, the 2026 NEC Bowler of the Year bowled the second perfect game in NEC Bowling Championship history, allowing the Purple Eagles to escape with a narrow 1086-1079 win in the leg. Brock joined Sacred Heart's Skylar Mulligan Brown as the only two bowlers to ever go perfect at the event, with the latter achieving the feat in 2021.
The senior from Orchard Park, NY was phenomenal in Niagara's two matches, leading all participants in overall frame average (23.78), traditional frame average (26.90), fill percentage (96.0) and strike percentage (68.0). She also ranked second in first ball average (9.46) and makeable spare percentage (93.3). Despite Niagara's exit from the tournament, Brock etched her name in the NEC Bowling history books to cap off a remarkable senior season.
Sharing the Tournament MVP honors with Brock was Livingston, who guided Mercyhurst to their first ever NEC Championship match. The sophomore was impressive during Mercyhurst's run to the final, ranking inside the top five in seven stat categories. Livingston ranked second in strike percentage (65.0), third in overall frame average (22.28), Baker frame average (21.98), fill percentage (90.0) and first ball average (9.34). She helped Mercyhurst in a big way during its elimination mega match against Monmouth, closing out her traditional leg with four consecutive strikes to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead. The Sarver, PA native stepped up her game in a major way in the postseason, outperforming her regular-season numbers in overall frame average (19.17) and Baker frame average (19.22).
Joining the Co-MVPs on the All-Tournament team were the Duquesne duo of
Maribeth Baker (York, PA/Pennridge) and
Taylor Miller (Lititz, PA/Warwick). The pair were pivitol pieces of Duquesne's squad all season and came through when it mattered most at the NEC Tournament, helping the Dukes win their first ever NEC Championship.
Baker, an All-NEC first team selection in 2026, excelled at the NEC Tournament. The York, PA product ranked third in traditional average (23.20), fourth in overall average (21.65) and fifth in strike percentage (60.0) among participating athletes. Baker's star moment came in the Baker leg of the final. With Duquesne up 1-0 on Mercyhurst and holding a 36-pin lead after three Baker games, the junior helped her team slam the door shut by rattling off three strikes in her final four frames.
Miller had a similarly clutch performance in the traditional leg of the championship match, knocking down 205 pins and registering seven strikes. The four-time NEC Rookie of the Week posted the tournament's top Baker average (23.03) and placed fourth in strike percentage (61.7). Miller also logged the fifth-best first ball average (9.30).
Monmouth’s
Kailyn Bloch (East Islip, NY/East Islip) also claimed a spot on the All-Tournament team after helping Monmouth finish third at the NEC Championship. The sophomore showed out, finishing second in overall frame average (22.64), traditional frame average (23.13), Baker frame average (22.28) and fill percentage (94.3). Bloch ranked first in several categories as well, posting a 9.47 first ball average and converting a remarkable 100 percent of her makeable spares. Her perfect makeable spare conversion rate and other impressive marks helped Monmouth battle out of an early 1-0 hole in its elimination mega match to post a 2-1 win over top-seeded Niagara.
Duquesne will represent the NEC at the 2026 NCAA Bowling Championship as the league's automatic qualifier. The Dukes open up against Nebraska on Friday April 3 in the Pittsburgh Regional.
