CENTRAL CONNECTICUT 42, NEW HAVEN 20
Behind another explosive offensive outing, Central Connecticut improved to 3-0 in NEC play with a convincing 42-20 win over visiting New Haven in the first-ever Division I meeting between the two Nutmeg State squads. Sophomore running back Davon Smith, Jr. ran for back-to-back scores in the second quarter to spark a 21-0 run that turned a 7-6 Blue Devils’ edge into a 28-6 cushion with 6:47 left in the third.

STONEHILL 18, LIU 14
A drama-filled finish resulted in Stonehill handing LIU its first league loss of the season inside Shark Stadium on Saturday. Senior Luca Stanzani gave the Sharks the lead on a six-yard touchdown pass with 3:03 remaining, but his heroics were spoiled by Skyhawks’ fifth-year quarterback Jack O’Connell, who hit sophomore Jaylin Baker with a 32-yarder in the end zone with five seconds left on the clock.

DUQUESNE 52, WAGNER 21
A 25-yard go-ahead touchdown throw from Carson Camp with 29 seconds to go before intermission set the tone for a second half that was dominated by Duquesne on Saturday. The Dukes pitched a 35-0 shutout during that stretch to soar to a 52-21 win over Wagner at Arthur J. Rooney Field.

ROBERT MORRIS 28, MERCYHURST 14
Robert Morris used a 21-0 run capped by an 89-yard pick-6 by senior cornerback Mekhi Kilburn to break open a 7-7 tie and score a 28-14 win over visiting Mercyhurst on Saturday. The Colonials’ defense paved the way with four sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble and three three-and-outs.

Lindenwood 44, CHICAGO STATE 9
Chicago State dropped a 44-9 decision at Lindenwood on Saturday. Rookie Donovan Blair converted on each of his three field goal attempts to provide the offense for the Cougars.
