NEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Semra Said, Rider
Sr., F, Manheim, Germany/Feudenheim Gymnasium Manheim
Said led the way for the Broncs as Rider opened the season with a 3-0 victory at Colgate. Thanks to a shifty pass from Samantha Biondi around the Raider goalie, Said fired the ball into net to secure an early lead for the Broncs just five minutes into the first quarter. The senior forward tallied two shots in the contest and connected on her only chance on target for her 14th career goal.
NEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jade Regnart, Rider
So., GK, Cape Town, South Africa/Fairmont
Regnart posted her first shutout of the 2025 campaign while making one save in the process. The sophomore goalie anchored a Rider defense that limited Colgate to six shots with one coming on target. The Broncs’ defense also limited the Raiders to just four penalty corners in 60 minutes as Rider posted a 3-0 triumph. It marked Regnart’s fifth career shutout. Rider has now won six consecutive season openers.
NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Morgan Smeltz, Saint Francis U
Fr., M, Calisle, PA/Cumberland Valley
In the first appearance of her collegiate career, Smeltz wasted no time making an impact. The rookie midfielder scored her first career goal in SFU’s 4-0 road triumph over Bellarmine.
