Eugene, OR –
FDU senior Salif Mane capped off his outdoor season by making history at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

With a personal-best 17.14-meter mark, the now seven-time All-American won the national title in the triple jump. Mane is the second NEC student-athlete to win a national championship in any individual sport, joining UMBC’s Cleopatra Borel, who won the indoor shot put in 2002 (57’5”).

His winning mark of 17.14 meters is the longest triple jump in the nation this season, college or professional, while also ranking ninth in the world. It is also tied for the 17th-longest triple jump in NCAA Outdoor Championship history along with being the .38 meters (nearly 15 inches) longer than any triple jump mark during the collegiate outdoor season entering the meet. The 13-time NEC champion won the national title by ¼ of an inch over longtime rival Russell Robinson from Miami (FL).

Mane’s seven All-American distinctions are now tied with former LIU sprinter and soon-to-be three-time Olympian Brendon Rodney for the most in league history. Four of his All-American honors came during the indoor season (2022 TJ (7th), 2023 TJ (2nd), 2024 TJ (4th), 2024 LJ (10th)) and the remaining three came during the outdoor season (2022 TJ (12th), 2023 TJ (5th), 2024 TJ (1st)).

Mane is the first individual national champion in FDU history.
