NEC/MOLTEN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Karly Klaer, Chicago State
Setter, Junior, St. Joseph, Michigan (St. Joseph/Cleveland State)
Last Week’s Stats: 4.50 points per set, 3.71 digs per set, 3.29 kills per set, 1.00 service aces per set
Klaer put up double figures in kills twice to lead Chicago State to a weekend sweep of LIU and help the Cougars improve to 4-0 in NEC play. The junior contributed 4.50 points per set after combining for 23 kills, 26 digs, three blocks and seven service aces in the respective 3-1 and 3-0 wins. Klaer got her week going with a double-double — her fifth of the season — on Friday evening. Delivering 10 kills and 17 digs, she added a trio of blocks and a season-best four service aces in the triumph. On Saturday, the Michigan product set a new season-high in kills for a three-set match after she racked up 13 on the afternoon. Klaer also tacked on three points from the service line in the series finale with the Sharks. This season, she leads Chicago State with 26 service aces and 0.44 aces per set, while her 2.66 kills per set are good for second on the team. This is Klaer’s first NEC/Molten Player of the Week award, and the third for a Cougar this season.

NEC/MOLTEN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Emily Van O’Linda, FDU
Libero, Senior, Wantagh, NY/Wantagh
Last Week’s Stats: 3.75 digs per set
Van O’Linda piloted a red-hot FDU squad to its eighth, ninth and program-record 10th-straight triumphs last week after the Knights followed a win over non-conference foe Stony Brook with a conference sweep of Mercyhurst. The veteran led all NEC players with 45 total digs and an average of 3.75 per set. A native of Wantagh, NY, Van O’Linda got her week going with a 23-dig effort in Tuesday’s 3-1 road win against the Seawolves. The 23 digs were a season-high for the libero in a four-set match. Van O’Linda had another impressive outing in Saturday’s series finale against the Lakers. She delivered 18 digs to push her team past the NEC’s newest member in five sets and preserve the Knights’ undefeated record in conference play. O’Linda enters the third weekend of league play ranked first on the team and third in the loop in digs per set with 4.06. This is her first NEC/Molten Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season, and the first for a Knight in 2024.

NEC/MOLTEN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Bella Correia, LIU
Outside Hitter/Right Side, Freshman, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Marista Glória
Last Week’s Stats: .250 hitting percentage, 3.14 points per set, 2.71 kills per set, 1.43 digs per set, 0.57 blocks per set

The first-year outside hitter/right side combined for 10 digs and 19 kills on .250 hitting during that stretch. In Friday’s series opener, a 3-1 setback, Correia delivered a season-high 11 kills. In addition, she matched a personal-best effort in blocks after recording four for the third time this season. The Brazilian concluded her weekend with an eight-kill, five-dig effort on Saturday, a straight-set loss to the first-place Cougars. During that finale, she committed just one attack error in 25 total attempts for a .280 hitting percentage.
