Winning its first title since 2011 — and the fourth in program history — Sacred Heart carded a 38-over 902 and finished with a five-stoke cushion over both LIU and Saint Francis U in a tightly-contested championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, FL. The top-four teams were separated by just eight strokes. The Pioneers started the day in a tie for first and held off a late charge from the Sharks, who made a remarkable effort as a group after shooting a 6-over 294 today. Saint Francis U improved on each round as a team over the weekend to post its best finish since winning it all in 2013. Sacred Heart previously won the event in 2008, 2009 and 2011. The Pioneers will next represent the NEC in NCAA Regional competition. The Golf Channel will air the selection show on Wednesday, May 4, at 4 pm EST.
