NEC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cassidy Triska, Fairleigh Dickinson
Jr., Shortstop/Outfield, Murrieta, CA/Vista Murrieta
Triska had an explosive week at the plate to lead FDU to a 4-1 record, including a 2-1 mark in NEC play. The junior shortstop/outfielder posted a .615 batting average and sent six of her 10 hits for extra bases on two doubles and a whopping four home runs. In the process, she slugged 1.500 with six RBI and recorded a .684 on-base percentage. Triska, who crossed home 10 times, was also a menace on the base paths as she successfully converted on each of her four stolen-base attempts. The Murrieta, CA native’s week was highlighted by a 4-for-4 effort against Saint Peter’s that saw her go yard twice to finish with three runs and two RBI in the 6-3 win. This is Triska’s first NEC Player of the Week honor this season.
NEC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Scarlett Lloyd, Wagner
So., Pitcher, Ceres, CA/Central Valley
Lloyd was lockdown in the circle for Wagner, which won each of its four games last week. The sophomore hurler did not allow an earned run in 14.0 innings of work. A product of Ceres, CA, she earned a pair of complete-game victories against Saint Peter’s and Merrimack after scattering just six hits while striking out nine, including five in Saturday’s 3-1 NEC victory. This is Lloyd’s first NEC Pitcher of the Week honor this season.
NEC SOFTBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jess DeWitt, Fairleigh Dickinson
Fr., Second Base/Utility, Simi Valley, CA/Chaminade College Preparatory
Dewitt went yard four times, including twice in a 6-3 win against Saint Peter’s, to help lead the Knights to a 4-1 record last week. The rookie, who drove in seven and scored eight, registered five extra base hits, adding a double to finish 8-for-16 at the plate. In addition, she posted a 1.313 slugging percentage and a .556 on-base percentage. DeWitt capped off her monstrous week by blasting a three-run home run that helped FDU clinch the series against Sacred Heart with a 13-5 win on Monday. This is her fifth NEC weekly honor and fourth Rookie of the Week award this season.
NEC PRIME PERFORMERS
Megan Marcel, BRY (So., SS)
Marcel had an efficient week at the plate, going 5-for-8 for a .625 batting average and a .667 on-base percentage. The sophomore shortstop drove in six runs, including five in Bryant’s 5-2 upset win over first-place Saint Francis U, which was undefeated in NEC play.
Paige Stringer, CCSU (So., IF/OF)
Stringer drove in five runs in four games after batting .636 on a 7-for-11 effort. The sophomore, who posted a 1.091 slugging percentage and .692 on-base percentage, launched one home run and a pair of doubles during that stretch.

Alayna Savaglio, FDU (Sr., P/1B)
Savaglio registered 20 strikeouts in 15.0 innings and registered a 2-1 record in the circle for FDU last week. Fanning 13 batters against Sacred Heart on Saturday, the senior earned the win in Monday's finale and helped the Knights take the series after throwing 2.0 frames of scoreless softball.
Angelina Reno, LIU (Sr., IF)
Reno batted .667 (4-for-6) and posted a 1.333 slugging percentage for LIU, which went 2-1 against Bryant. She drove in all four of her runs and scored twice in Saturday’s win after knocking one double and a home run.
Olivia Murphy, MSM (Fr., P/)
Murphy helped lead Mount St. Mary’s to a perfect 5-0 week after posting a 0.54 ERA in three appearances and 13.0 innings. During that stretch, the rookie allowed just one earned run and struck out eight. Murphy, who started the week with a win after tossing three innings of relief against Coppin State, picked up her second victory after allowing one run in a complete-game effort against CCSU. She came up clutch in the series finale against the Blue Devils, retiring the final eight batters to earn her first collegiate save.
Avery Neuhart, MSM (Sr., P)
Neuhart collected one save and one victory for Mount St. Mary’s, which posted a perfect 5-0 record last week. The veteran hurler fanned seven batters in 8.0 innings of work, allowing just one earned run on five hits.
Jenna Mowad, SHU (So., C/IF)
Moward registered at least one hit in each of Sacred Heart’s five games last week. The sophomore infielder, who scored four runs and drove in two, went 7-for-17 at the plate with one double and a home run.
Jordan Frank, SFU (Gr., OF)
Frank drove in five runs for Saint Francis U last week, including three in an opening-game victory against Bryant on Saturday. She finished the stretch with a .364 batting average and a .636 slugging percentage.
Nora Conway, WC (Sr., UT)
Conway drove in four runs and scored five to lead Wagner to a 4-0 record last week. A senior utility player, she went 7-for-13 at the plate (.538) and registered a 1.000 slugging percentage and .538 on-base percentage. Conway knocked three doubles and a home run and scored at least one run in each of the Seahawks’ four games.
