Carlisle, PA -- Bryant's women grabbed the lead at the 2020-21 NEC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships on day one and never looked back.

The Bulldogs became just the third school in NEC history to win four consecutive titles, piling up 739.5 points over the five-day competition held at CCSU (diving) and the Keystone Athletic Center (swimming) in Carlisle, PA.

The Bulldogs were paced all week by Julia Stenhard, Alexa Rivera, and Sara Gendron whose contributions, both individually and on relay squads, ensured victory. Stenhard, who finished second in the 200 backstroke tonight, was named the NEC Outstanding Rookie of the Meet.

CCSU's Jeannette King won the 100 free in 50.20 for her third individual gold of the week en route to being named the NEC Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet.

King's teammate, Alex Lindgren, put on a strong performance in the 200 breaststroke touching the wall in 2:17.04.

SFBK's Marijose Lopez won the 1650 by nearly eight seconds in 17:01.27.

Saint Francis U's Millie Laudenbach brought home gold in the 200 backstroke in two minutes flat.

Just as they had all week, CCSU and Bryant battled to a tight finish in the meet's final event the 400 free relay. CCSU came away with the victory fractions of a second before their conference rival.

LIU junior Ella Johnson picked up a gold after a dominant performance in the 200 butterfly (2:01.12).

LIU's Matthew Donovan and Jackie Whitty were collectively named the NEC Coaching Staff of the Year,

Bryant joined Gardner-Webb (2004-07) and Saint Francis U (2010-13) as the only schools to earn four straight NEC crowns.
