NEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NICK ANGELINI, BRYANT
Sr., OF, R/R, 5-11, 182 lbs., Bedford, NH/Bedford
WEEK 10 STATS:
5 starts, .500 BA (11-for-22), 5 XBH, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 6 runs, .909 slugging pct.
Angelini’s eye-popping offensive production spearheaded the Bulldogs three-game sweep of Central Connecticut. The veteran outfielder recorded three hits in each of Bryant’s three victories over CCSU. He logged at least one extra-base hit, one RBI and one run scored in all three starts against the Blue Devils. Angelini reached base at a .667 clip while slugging 1.286 during the three-game weekend set. In the series-opening hit parade, a 16-4 triumph by the Bulldogs, the 5-foot-11 senior connected on a run-scoring single, a RBI double and a solo homer. Angelini singled home runs in the fifth and sixth innings of the series’ middle game as part of a 3-for-6 effort in a 15-4 win. He opened the scoring in the series finale, leading off the second inning by blasting a solo shot over the left-field fence. For the week, which also included non-conference battles against Rhode Island and Quinnipiac, Angelini batted .500 (11-for-22) with three doubles, two long balls, nine RBI and six runs. The senior has notched at least one hit and one RBI in six consecutive games and the Bulldogs are averaging 13.2 runs per outing during that stretch.

NEC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
McCAE ALLEN, WAGNER
Jr., RHP, 6-4, 215 lbs., Wichita, KS/Neosho CC
WEEK 10 STATS:
1 start, 0.00 ERA, 7.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 7 K
Allen took the ball for the rubber game at Mount St. Mary’s and fired 7.0 strong innings to earn an 8-2 victory that bumped Wagner into sole possession of second place in the NEC standings. The right-handed hurler did not permit an earned run or an extra-base hit en-route to his third consecutive conference win. Pitching to an 0.71 WHIP, Allen scattered four singles and issued only one base on balls while registering seven strikeouts. Mount managed its lone run off of Allen on a steal play with two outs in the third inning. After allowing a single to start the fourth inning, Wagner’s 6-foot-4 righty kept the Mountaineers hitless over the ensuing 4.0 frames.  Remaining strong throughout the 108-pitch outing, Allen retired the last nine batters he faced in order. He fanned three of the last four men to face him and handed a 7-1 lead over to the bullpen.

NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ADAM FRANK, FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON
R-Fr., OF, R/R, 5-10, 170 lbs., Saddle Brook, NJ/Don Bosco Prep
WEEK 10 STATS:
3 app., .500 BA (7-for-14), 2B, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 4 runs
Frank, who hit safely in all three games against NEC rival LIU Brooklyn, flipped the power switch following the series opener. Over his two most-recent starts, the redshirt freshman outfielder slugged 1.181 while driving in eight runs. After going homerless over his first 27 appearances this season, Frank went deep in each of FDU’s last two games against LIU. He recorded four RBI in each of the contests. For the three-game series, Frank earned his way onto base eight times while hitting .500 (7-for-14) with three extra-base hits, eight RBI and four runs scored. Frank cracked four hits in Friday’s 17-2 triumph over the Blackbirds. After singling in three prior at-bats, Frank unloaded a grand slam in the seventh inning of the win. He went deep again in Saturday’s series finale, blasting a three-run bomb that tied the score at 5-5 in the fourth frame.
