Somerset, NJ - Official review has arrived on the Northeast Conference gridiron.

The NEC has partnered with WingWarp, a San Francisco-based technology company, to develop and employ a ground-breaking video review system for football referees using wireless, battery-operated cameras.

All seven NEC football venues have been equipped with WingWarp’s instant replay systems, all of which are operational in time for the 2017 season. The setup includes 10 to 12 cameras at each venue.

The Northeast Conference and WingWarp initially joined forces last fall to bring instant replay to all 10 NEC basketball venues. During the installation process prior to the 2016-17 conference basketball season, WingWarp also successfully tested official review for football at a pair of league games last October.

Beginning with four gridiron games on Saturday, September 2, the NEC will employ the innovative video review system for much of the 2017 season. WingWarp’s systems will be active for every Northeast Conference game along with select non-conference contests around the league.
