Marrero came up with a number of key plays in Stony Brook’s 28-21 rollercoaster victory over Wagner at LaValle Stadium on Saturday. In the first quarter, he recovered a fumble inside the Wagner five-yard line that set up Stony Brook’s first touchdown of the game on the ensuing play. Late in the game with Stony Brook holding a 28-21 edge and the Seahawks driving, Marrero sacked Wagner quarterback David Bateman, forcing a fumble that the Seawolves recovered on their own 22-yard line with 21 seconds remaining to seal the win. Marrero finished the contest with five tackles (four solo), two sacks for -14 yards, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery as the Seawolves stretched their win streak to a school-record seven games.
