Moriarty enjoyed his best day in a Seawolf uniform helping Stony Brook storm back from a 15-point second half deficit to overtake visiting Central Connecticut State, 36-31, on Saturday. Moriarty was involved in all five Stony Brook touchdowns, connecting on 30-39 passes for 329 yards and four touchdowns, both career-highs. It marked the first time a Stony Brook quarterback has completed 30 passes in a single game since elevating to Division I in 1999, and the first 300-yard game since Scott Bard's 474-yard effort in 2001. Moriarty also excelled on the ground, rushing for 54 yards, including an eight-yard touchdown in the second quarter. His 383 yards of total offense was the third-best single-game total in NEC history. With the Seawolves trailing 31-23 with just over three minutes to play, he tossed a four-yard touchdown to running back Clinton Graham. After the two-point conversion failed and Stony Brook forced a CCSU punt, the Seawolves took over on the Blue Devils’ 44-yard line with 1:35 on the clock. Three plays later Moriarty hit wideout Londre Blocker with a game-winning 43-yard scoring strike with 1:00 to play. The Howell, NJ native leads the NEC and ranks 27th nationally in total offense (230.7 ypg). He is also the league leader in passing yards (201.4 ypg), completions (157) and completion percentage (58.8).
