The centerpiece of Albany’s prolific ground attack, Jones rushed 17 times for 157 yards and three touchdowns as the Great Danes went on the road to stop St. Francis (PA), 44-21. The 2002 All-American gave his team a 7-0 lead on a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, made it 30-7 on a 20-yard scamper in the third quarter and iced the game on a 17-yard sweep with four minutes remaining in the contest. Jones has now rushed for 100 or more yards in 11 of the last 13 games and topped the 150-yard mark seven times in his career. He also tied Pat Ryder’s school record of 30 career rushing touchdowns in the win and moved into ninth place on the NEC’s all-time rushing list with 2,178 yards. A Ravena, NY product, Jones ranks second in the NEC and 19th nationally with 111.5 ypg, while Albany stands eighth nationally with 269.7 ypg on the ground.
