In just his second game as starting quarterback, Moriarty turned in a fine all-around effort as Stony Brook extended its winning streak to a school-record seven games with a 28-21 home win over Wagner. Moriarty completed 22-36 passes for 212 yards and led the Seawolves in rushing with 62 yards on 15 carries. The junior signal caller led a long first quarter march, completing 4-4 passes for 79 yards prior to Londre Blocker running it in from two yards out to give the Seawolves a 14-0 edge. After Wagner rallied to take a 21-20 lead, Moriarty marched Stony Brook down the field midway through the fourth quarter, hitting wideout Josh Anderson three times for 29 yards on the drive. In one of the games critical plays, Moriarty ran for 23 yards on a quarterback draw, setting up Clinton Graham’s two-yard scoring plunge that gave the Seawolves the lead for good. Moriarty currently leads the NEC in passing yards (221.5/game) and total offense (282.5 ypg), and is tied for sixth in rushing (61.0 ypg).
