Demayo earns her first NEC Rookie of the Week honor after tallying 40 kills, 51 digs, seven blocks and seven aces last week. She started the week with nine kills, 11 digs, two blocks and a .286 hitting percentage in a straight game win over La Salle. Demayo then came on strong for the Blackbirds at the Holiday Inn Express Tournament at Stony Brook, tallying double-doubles against both Canisius (15 kills & 15 digs/.333 hitting percentage) and St. John s (11 kills & 14 digs). The rookie standout recorded 11 digs, five kills and three aces in the win over Stony Brook (3-2), before being sidelined in the third game due to a gash above her right eye. Demayo is currently averaging 3.40 digs and 2.67 kills per game in her young rookie campaign.
