Mavula picked up Most Valuable Player honors at the Maine Black Bear Invitational over the weekend, as he netted game-winning scores in both of his first two collegiate contests. Mavula first tickled the twines in a 2-1 victory over Niagara on Sunday. His second game-winner came in dramatic fashion, as he scored just 3:14 into overtime to pace the Bobcats to a 2-1 win versus Canisius on Monday. Mavula’s clutch scoring helped QU take home the Tournament title, while improving the squad’s record to 2-0 on the year.
