Marchese earns Player of the Week honors after his stellar play between the pipes lifted the Pioneers to a pair of ties in NEC action last week. Marchese recorded eight saves, including one in overtime, while allowing just one goal in Sacred Heart’s 1-1 draw against Central Connecticut State on Wednesday afternoon. Versus three-time defending NEC champion FDU on Sunday, Marchese posted nine saves on his way to recording his second shutout of the year as SHU battled the Knights to a 0-0 deadlock in double overtime. The Middletown, CT native currently ranks third in the NEC in both goals against average (0.94) and save percentage (.839).
