After missing two games with an ankle injury, Byfield made a triumphant return last Tuesday leading the Hawks to an impressive 89-76 victory at Siena. In just 23 minutes of action, Byfield tallied 21 points on 8-13 shooting from the floor. He was also one of a school record eight Monmouth players to convert from beyond the arc, sinking 3-6 shots from downtown. He also added three rebounds, one assist and one steal as the Hawks improved to 3-2 on the season. A preseason all-NEC pick, Byfield is tied for the team lead with 13.0 points per contest and is shooting 46.2 percent from three-point range.
