Tallying nine points last week, van Dusseldorp led LIU to a 2-1 record with both of its victories coming against NEC opponents. The freshman forward opened the week with a one-assist outing in a 4-3 home victory over New Haven on Tuesday afternoon. On Thursday, the Sharks hit the road to take on Mercyhurst where the Netherlands native turned a hat trick to lift LIU to a 4-2 triumph over the Lakers. van Dusseldorp capped off the week with a goal at La Salle on Sunday. The rookie sensation became just the second NEC player to score at least three goals in a game this season. This marks the second straight season a LIU athlete has claimed NEC Offensive Player of the Week and NEC Rookie of the Week accolades with it being the first time a Shark has won both awards in the same week since 2019.
