Cooper was clutch for Sacred Heart in front of the cage as the Pioneers went 2-0 last week. In a thrilling penalty shootout victory over Stonehill, the reigning NEC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year made three saves against the Skyhawks, while making two one-on-one stops during the shootout to help secure the win for the Pioneers. Cooper also produced a shutout in a 3-0 victory over Merrimack. The Watertown, MA native ranks second in the conference with a 2.21 GAA. This marks Cooper’s first career NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor. The All-NEC first teamer is the second Pioneer to claim the award this season, joining fellow goaltender Ruby Butler.
