Earning NEC Rookie of the Week accolades in back-to-back weeks, O’Donnell assisted on two of Stonehill’s goals last week in nail-biting contests against NEC foes. The freshman forward assisted on the Skyhawks’ game-winning goal on Monday against Mercyhurst as she stole the ball from the Laker defense, pulled a shifty spin move and delivered the ball to Delaney Wojnarowicz in the penalty circle. O’Donnell also dished an assist on Stonehill’s game-tying score early in the third quarter to help force overtime against Sacred Heart on Friday afternoon. O’Donnell leads all NEC freshmen in goals per game (0.25), assists per game (0.25) and points per game (0.75). The Bedford, NH native is the first player this season to win multiple NEC Rookie of the Week awards. This also marks the third consecutive season a Stonehill athlete has claimed NEC Rookie of the Week status.
