Earning her second NEC Defensive Player of the Week of the year, van Schoot was instrumental in Quinnipiac earning two victories over the weekend. The Bobcats opened league play with a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory on the road against Sacred Heart. van Schoot stopped nine shots against the Pioneers with six of them coming in the final two quarters. The first-year keeper held SHU scoreless through 59:53 minutes of play before the Pioneers pulled its keeper to go all in on forcing OT. The Netherlands native also fought off nine penalty corner opportunities by the in-state rival. van Schoot continued her strong run of form as Quinnipiac visited Columbia on Sunday. Making seven saves on 14 shots, van Schoot was again peppered with penalty corners from the Lions. Quinnipiac is currently riding a three-game winning streak. The rookie goalie finished the weekend with 16 saves, a 0.98 GAA and a .889 save percentage. van Schoot leads the conference in save percentage (.797) and GAA (1.83). Her .797 save percentage ranks 13th in the country, while her GAA is 40th. The Bobcat keeper is first athlete this season to take home multiple NEC Defensive Player of the Week awards.
