Last Week’s Stats: 1.83 points per set, 1.56 blocks per set, 0.56 kills per set
Marchetto made her presence felt for FDU during the Knights’ Opening Weekend, which featured three matches at the Seton Hall Classic. The junior averaged 1.56 rejections per set after she racked up nine solo and five assisted blocks during that stretch. Marchetto came out of the gates firing in the Knights’ season debut against NJIT as she put down seven blocks to lead FDU to a straight-set sweep. In addition to setting a career-best mark for most blocks in a three-set match in the triumph, the Italian-born middle blocker’s seven rejections were the most by an NEC player this weekend. Marchetto rounded out the weekend by tallying three blocks in a 3-0 defeat to Seton Hall on Saturday and four in a 3-0 setback to Illinois State on Sunday. This is her fourth career NEC/Molten Defensive Player of the Week award.
