Murillo had a strong finish to her rookie campaign for Stonehill last week. In five games, the first-year shortstop crafted a .400/.471/.600 slash line while racking up five runs and five RBI. In addition, Murillo belted out a pair of extra base hits after she registered one double and a three-bagger. In the Skyhawks’ final NEC series of the season against FDU, Murillo combined to go 6-for-9 from the plate for a .667 average during that stretch. One game after she turned in a 3-for-4 performance that featured one double and a run scored from the top spot of Stonehill’s lineup on Saturday, the Bay Shore, NY native ended the season with a bang after she drove in a career-high five RBI while scoring twice as part of a 2-for-3 effort on Sunday. The Skyhawks coasted to a 12-1 triumph in that contest. Murillo finished as Stonehill’s batting leader after closing out the year with a .374 average, a clip that ranks sixth in the league. Previously earning NEC Rookie of the Week distinction last month on April 7, Murillo took home the honor twice during her first campaign in Easton.
