Winning his league-high third NEC Player of the Week honor, Ray led FDU to another unbeaten weekend in what has been a record-breaking season for the Knights. In its conference series against Central Connecticut, FDU reached a program record 22 NEC victories on the season. Ray batted .409 (9-for-22) through four games last week, while hitting four over the fence with three of his homers coming in Friday’s 14-4 victory over CCSU. The senior right fielder also scored four runs and drove seven more along with cracking two doubles throughout the week. The Woodbine, NJ native finished the week with a 1.503 OPS off a 1.045 slugging percentage and a 1.503 OPS. Ray leads the conference in slugging percentage (.845), OPS (1.326), hits (72), RBIs (71), home runs (26) and at bats (193). Ray has also set FDU single-season program records in home runs, RBIs and total bases. Additionally, his 26 homers are a NEC single-season record. The Knights are currently atop the conference standings with a 22-5 mark. Ray is the first Knights to take home multiple NEC Player of the Week honors in the same season since Justin Sierra in 2022.
