Goulamzi set a new conference-best in the 5000m run over the weekend after clocking a 16:23.48 at the Penn Relays. Her time is also 174th in nation. The sophomore distance runner is the defending NEC 5000m champion and she set a new conference meet record at this past winter’s indoor meet as she shattered the record by 45 seconds. Goulamzi is the first LIU athlete to take home NEC Track Athlete of the Week honors on the outdoor circuit in three years.
