Gouveia closed out her first-ever collegiate regular season on a high note, as the midfielder claimed NEC Rookie of the Week distinction for a conference-record eighth time on Monday. That mark smashed the previous record of five NEC Rookie of the Week awards, which was shared by five former players. Gouveia turned in a stat stuffer of a performance in Stonehill’s final game of the regular season slate on Saturday. Netting three goals for her third-straight hat trick, and ninth of the season, the North Stonington, CT native added two ground balls, once caused turnover and six draw controls to lead her squad past Howard by a 13-5 decision. With the victory, postseason-bound Stonehill claimed a share of the NEC regular season for the second time in as many years. Leading the team with 84 total draw controls, Gouveia ranks third on a well-balanced and stout Skyhawks’ offense with 39 goals, while her 44 points are also good for third on the team. Among league leaders, she is eighth in goals per game (2.29) and third in draw controls per contest (4.94).
