Gonzalez Perez did it all for UMES as the Hawks clinched a road series win at Delaware State over the weekend. The senior catcher smacked three home runs and registered 10 RBIs off .333 batting. During Saturday’s 11-4 victory over the Hornets, Gonzalez Perez smashed two of his homers, while driving in seven runs for the Hawks. His final homer of the weekend came in the ninth inning of a 6-5 game on Sunday to help UMES secure the two-run triumph. The Syracuse, NY native finished the week with 5 runs scored and a 1.201 OPS off a .822 slugging percentage and .368 OBP. This marks his first career NEC Player of the Week award.
