Fig played a key role in helping LIU move into a three-way tie for first place at week’s end. The redshirt senior earned the start between the pipes in each of the Sharks’ two games and thanks to her lockdown play, she guided LIU to key wins over Central Connecticut and Le Moyne. On the week, Fig, who held both opponents to single digits in goals, posted a 4.45 goals-against average and .619 save percentage after racking up 13 saves in over 107 minutes of action. The Bayport, NY native was nearly impenetrable in Wednesday’s mid-week matchup with the Blue Devils, allowing just one goal in nearly 48 minutes while making six stops. On Saturday, she limited the Dolphins to seven scores and stopped seven of the 26 shots she faced to help LIU become the first team to take down Le Moyne in NEC action this season. This is Fig’s first NEC Defensive Player of the Week award, and the first for a Shark in 2026.
