Another big offensive stretch piloted the NEC’s top-scoring freshman to NEC Rookie of the Week distinction once again. Claiming the award six out of a possible nine times in 2026, Gouveia has shattered the league’s record for most NEC Rookie of the Week honors in a single season. Last week, the North Stonington, CT native poured in six goals while adding six draw controls, three caused turnovers and two ground balls to lead a red-hot Stonehill team to two more victories. Scoring a 15-13 road win at Wagner in mid-week action before defeating New Haven at home by a 21-7 final on Saturday, the Skyhawks, who have won six-in-a-row, improved to 6-1 against league foes to move into a three-way tie with Le Moyne and LIU for first place in the NEC standings. Gouveia delivered a timely goal in Wednesday’s victory over the Seahawks. With her team facing a 13-10 deficit, she completed a furious Skyhawks’ comeback bid by tallying the penultimate score of a game-ending five-goal rally — a mark that went down as the game-winner — with 8:16 remaining in the final quarter. The midfielder added another hat trick to her résumé on Saturday when she went off for four goals against the Chargers. With seven hat tricks on the season, Gouveia is tied for ninth in the conference with 31 scores and 2.07 per contest while her 5.00 draw controls per game are good for third.
