A clutch offensive performance landed Tortora her second NEC Player of the Week nod in the past three weeks. The graduate attack helped Le Moyne maintain its perfect record against NEC competitors — and take sole possession of first place in the league standings — after she combined for five goals and two assists in a pair of outings last week. In an 18-1 mid-week win against Mercyhurst on Wednesday, Tortora found the back of the net three times for her fourth hat trick of the season. In Saturday’s battle of the remaining two unbeaten squads on the circuit between Le Moyne and Wagner, Tortora, who tallied two goals and two assists, propelled the Dolphins to the pivotal win after she delivered the game-winning strike 1:13 into overtime. Tortora also contributed to Le Moyne’s defensive efforts, tallying five caused turnovers, including three in Saturday’s pivotal overtime triumph, and four ground balls. Tortora ranks among the NEC’s leaders in assists and points. Her 1.11 dimes per contest are good for eighth while her 3.00 points per game rank seventh on the circuit.
