In six weeks of the NEC women’s lacrosse campaign, Gouveia has now taken home NEC Rookie of the Week distinction four times. The Nutmeg State product, who has registered at least one goal in eight-straight contests, had another stellar offensive performance for the Skyhawks. Tickling the twine a season-best four times, Gouveia helped Stonehill rebound from an NEC-opening defeat to Le Moyne with a commanding 20-6 victory over visiting Delaware State on Saturday. In addition, the middie added two ground balls, one caused turnover and a personal-best eight draw controls in the triumph. Gouveia has made a splash for the Skyhawks in her collegiate debut. Ranking second on the squad with 20 goals and third with 24 points, she is the team’s leader in draw controls (45). In addition, her 10 caused turnovers are good for second on the squad.
