Sakkas becomes the second Binghamton Bearcat to win NEC Rookie of the Week honors after a 3-0 week. He defeated Duquesne's Teo Papadopoulos, 6-4, 7-5, at No. 6 singles, helping Binghamton defeat the Dukes by a 6-1 final. Sakkas added two more wins in a 6-1 victory over Saint Francis. The freshman knocked off Beau Welker, 6-4, 6-4, in the No. 5 match and paired with James McPherson to post a 6-4 win over Noah Potts and Mario Beckles at No. 3 doubles. The Bearcats are now 2-0 in conference play with their win over the Red Flash.
