Gouveia’s stranglehold on the NEC Rookie of the Week award continues, as the Nutmeg State product walked away with the distinction for a third-straight week on Monday. The rookie midfielder helped guide Stonehill to a 1-1 record last week after she combined for five points in a 14-8 win over New Hampshire on Wednesday and a 19-7 defeat at UC Davis on Saturday. Gouveia, who has found the back of the net in five-straight games, contributed one goal, an assist, a pair of ground balls and two draw controls to the Skyhawks’ mid-week defeat of the Skyhawks. On Saturday, she notched her fourth hat trick in seven games after she scored three times against the Aggies. In addition, Gouveia matched a season-best effort in draw controls (8) in the non-conference tilt. On the season, she ranks second among fellow Skyhawks in goals and points with 14 and 18, respectively, while her 27 ground balls and nine caused turnovers are both team-best marks.
