Paquette dropped a career-high 29 points in Stonehill’s 69-61 win over Chicago State last night. The junior guard shot an impressive 42.8 percent from the field and 5-of-10 from beyond the arc in the home victory. The NEC’s reigning Most Improved Player added nine boards, two steals, a block and an assist along with going a perfect 6-for-6 at the charity stripe. Paquette scored 10 of her 29 points in the second quarter to help the Skyhawks overcome a two-point deficit after the first 10 minutes and build a nine-point advantage at the half. At the end of the third, she beat the buzzer with a halfcourt heave that landed her at No. 10 on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays this morning. Paquette ranks second in the conference with 15.0 ppg and fifth with 2.9 assists per game. The Preseason All-NEC pick also leads the league in free throw percentage (90.2), while ranking seventh in the nation. This is Paquette’s second Influxer/NEC Player of the Week award this season and third of her career. Her first Player of the Week honor came in the final week of last season. Stonehill finished the conference regular season 8-10 and will be the seventh seed in next week’s NEC Tournament.
