In just his third collegiate start, De Jesus tossed 5.1 scoreless innings for UMES on Sunday against Manhattan. The rookie righty allowed just three hits and only walked two batters, while striking out Jaspers. De Jesus limited the MAAC foe to a .158 BA when he was on the mound. The Puerto Rico native ranks third in the NEC with 12 strikeouts. This is the second straight year that a UMES pitcher has been tabbed NEC Rookie of the Week and the first time a Hawk hurler has taken home both Pitcher and Rookie of the Week honors in the same week.
