Lewis balled out last week as she averaged 28.5 points per game off 48.7 percent shooting from the field during Central Connecticut’s western Pennsylvania road trip. The freshman added averages of 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 assist in addition to her impressive scoring outings. Lewis shined with a career-high 36 points and 11 rebounds at Saint Francis on Saturday to register her first-ever collegiate double-double. Her 36 points are the most in a game by a NEC player this season. She added two steals and two blocks while going 13-of-15 from the charity stripe against the Red Flash. Lewis is the first NEC freshman to score at least 36 points in a conference game since LIU’s Brandy Thomas on February 11, 2019. Additionally, Lewis is one of two freshmen and one of seven players nationwide to score at least 36 points and grab at least 11 boards in a contest this season. The Fredericksburg, VA native added 21 points off 8-of-14 shooting at Mercyhurst on Thursday. Lewis has scored 21 or more points in three consecutive games to average 27.3 ppg during that stretch. Lewis ranks fourth in the league for scoring average and leads all NEC rookies (13.5). Additionally, she ranks third with a 81.0 free throw percentage. This marks Lewis’ first career Influxer/NEC Player of the Week honor and her second Influxer/NEC Rookie of the Week accolade in back-to-back weeks. She is the first Blue Devil to win multiple Rookie of the Week awards since Lara Rohkohl during the 2022-23 season. It's also the first time multiple CCSU players have been tabbed Player of the Week since 2010-11 as Lewis joins senior Lucia Noin as Influxer/NEC Player of the Week selections this season.
