Hackett tore up the opposition’s defense to the tune of a 27.5 point-per-game average in the final two games of the regular season to become the first Stonehill baller this season to claim Influxer/NEC Player of the Week honors. The junior guard was unstoppable in the Skyhawks’ first game of the week, a commanding 103-77 win over visiting Saint Francis. Torching the nets for 40 points after compiling 26 first-half points behind a scorching 7-of-8 start from the field and six long range makes through the first 20 minutes, the Canadian-born product became the second NEC player this season — and the first Skyhawk in the program’s Division I era — to put up 40 points in a game. Going 58.3 percent from the field, Hackett finished with eight made triples, the most by an NEC shooter this season, to help the Skyhawks eclipse the 100-point mark for the first time this season. In addition to his 40-point explosion, Hackett added five rebounds, three dimes, two rejections and a steal in 34 minutes. Later in the week, the Brock University transfer put up double figures for the third straight outing when he finished with 15 points in Stonehill’s overtime defeat to Mercyhurst. Hackett ranks second in scoring for a Stonehill squad that is postseason-bound for a second time in 2026 with 13.0 points per game.
