At the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic last week, Figueiredo set a new CCSU program record with a conference-best 47.89 in the 400m dash. The sophomore sprinter previously held the Blue Devil indoor record as his new time is 0.27 seconds faster. He is the only NEC athlete to run sub-48 in the 400m this season. His mark ranks 155th nationally. Additionally, Figueiredo ran a leg of CCSU’s 4x400m relay, which placed fifth with a league-best 3:14.72 time. This marks his second NEC Track Athlete of the Week award this season with his last one coming on January 20.
