Jarfani clocked a new personal record of 8:17.09 on his way to a gold medal in the 3000m race at the Fastrack Season Opener last week. His time is at the top of the NEC performance list and ranks 66th among all Division I runners. The junior distance runner’s mark was 10 seconds faster than last season’s NEC title winning time (8:27.91). This is Jarfani’s first NEC Track Athlete of the Week honor on the indoor circuit.
